Questions about sync
Is sync free?
Yes. Signing in, syncing, the web library and share links do not need a subscription. Pro is for regular use of the AI tools and imports.
Do I need to sign in?
No. Signing in is optional. Without it, the apps work as before and each recording stays on the device that made it.
What happens to recordings I made before signing in?
They are added to your account when you sign in on that device, so your existing library shows up on your other devices and on the web.
How fast do changes show up on my other devices?
A new recording is sent as soon as it is transcribed. Other devices pick up changes when you open the app, or within about 5 minutes while it is open.
Does sync use my cellular data?
On iPhone, uploading your existing library waits for Wi-Fi unless you turn on Sync on cellular. On iPhone, audio from other devices downloads when you play it; the Mac downloads it automatically.
Can I record or run AI tools on the web?
No. The web library is for reading, listening, exporting and sharing. Recording, importing files and the AI tools are in the iPhone and Mac apps.
Can I use AI Transcribe on Windows?
There is no Windows app. On a Windows PC you can open your library in a browser to read, play, export and share recordings made on your iPhone or Mac.
If I delete a recording on one device, is it gone everywhere?
Yes. Deleting a synced recording removes it from your account and from each of your devices the next time they sync. There is no trash.
Who can see a shared recording?
Anyone you give the link to. They see the transcript, the results and the audio without an account. Stop sharing at any time and the link no longer opens.
