What is AI Transcribe?
AI Transcribe is an iOS app that records meetings, lectures, interviews and voice memos, or imports audio and video files up to 3 hours long, and turns them into text with speaker labels and timestamps in 32 languages. 20+ AI tools then produce meeting notes, action items, key points, summaries and translations from the transcript. It works from the phone on the table, with no bot, no device and no calendar connection. Requires iOS 17 or later.
Built for meetings that happen in a room
Bot note takers join video calls. Recorder devices cost $159 and need charging. Your iPhone is already on the table, and with AI Transcribe it is the note taker.
Bot note takers
Otter, Fireflies, Fathom. Built for scheduled video calls. In-person recording is a side mode, not the product.
Recorder devices
Plaud and similar. A second thing to buy, charge and sync, with metered minutes.
AI Transcribe
Tap Record, put the phone down. Transcript with speakers, then notes with one tap.
What it does

Frequently asked questions
Does AI Transcribe join Zoom, Meet or Teams calls?
No, and that is on purpose. It records from the phone in the room, or imports a recording you made on the platform. Nothing joins your call and nothing connects to your calendar.
How does it take notes in an in-person meeting?
Tap Record and put the phone in the middle of the table. The transcript comes back with speaker labels and timestamps. Tap Create meeting notes for the summary and decisions, Create a todo list for the action items, and Extract dates for the deadlines.
Is AI Transcribe free?
AI Transcribe is free to download with a free trial. The Pro subscription (weekly or annual plans) is for regular use and includes the full set of AI tools.
Which recordings can I import?
Voice memos, WhatsApp voice messages saved to Files, Zoom or Teams recordings, videos and files from any recorder, up to 3 hours each. Video files work too: the audio track is extracted and transcribed.
Does it identify different speakers?
Yes. Transcripts include speaker labels and timestamps, which keeps meetings and interviews readable. Rename a speaker once and the name applies throughout.
Does it work with languages other than English?
Yes. AI Transcribe transcribes 32 languages with automatic language detection, and can translate transcripts and notes into 46 languages.
How accurate is the transcription?
AI Transcribe uses state-of-the-art speech recognition models. Accuracy is highest with clear audio; background noise and heavy crosstalk reduce it, as with any note taker.
How do I get the notes out of the app?
Copy the text, export as plain text or PDF via the share sheet into Slack, Notion, email or any app, or export the audio itself.
Is it a Plaud alternative?
For meetings where the phone can sit on the table, yes. Same transcription, speaker labels and AI meeting notes, without the $159 device, and it imports recordings from any other source.
Is there an Android version?
AI Transcribe is currently an iOS app for iPhone, distributed through the App Store.
