AI Transcribe

AI Transcribe for Mac

Record the call. AI writes the notes.

AI Transcribe for Mac records the sound your Mac plays and your microphone together, so both sides of a Zoom, Meet or Teams call are in the transcript. No bot joins. Then one click for meeting notes, action items and a summary.

  • Both sides of every call

Records the sound your Mac plays and your microphone together, so the other people on a Zoom, Meet or Teams call are in the transcript, not just you.

  • Offers to record when a meeting starts

When Zoom, Teams or Google Meet starts a call, a small prompt asks if you want to record it. One click and it is running. Turn it off, or switch on automatic recording, in Settings.

  • From the menu bar

Start and stop from the menu bar or with ⌃⌥R from any app. A timer shows in the menu bar while you record, and live captions show what is being said.

  • Drop in any file

Drag audio or video onto the window, press ⌘I, or use Open With in Finder. Zoom recordings, voice memos, interviews and lectures, up to 3 hours each.

  • Notes, action items, decisions

The Generate menu holds 22 tools: summary, meeting notes, action items by owner, a decisions log, the follow-up email, translation and more. Ask AI answers questions across your whole library.

  • Export it the way you need it

Text, Markdown, PDF, Word, subtitles as SRT or VTT, and the audio itself. Search finds a word in any transcript or result.

Every device

Same library as your iPhone.

Record in the room on your iPhone, record calls on your Mac, and find every recording in both apps and on the web. Sign in with your email; sync does not need a subscription.

How sync works →

What it does not do

  • It does not join calls as a bot, and it does not connect to your calendar.
  • It records audio, not your screen.
  • The final transcript is made in the cloud, not on your Mac.
  • There is no Windows version. On a PC you can open your recordings in the web library.

Questions about the Mac app

Does it record the other people on a call?

Yes. The Mac app records the audio your Mac plays together with your microphone, so both sides of a Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams call end up in the recording and the transcript. macOS asks for permission to record system audio the first time.

Does a bot join my meetings?

No. Nothing joins the call and nothing appears in the participant list. The recording happens on your Mac, the same way you hear the call.

Does it work with meetings in the browser?

Yes. Calls in Chrome, Safari or another browser are recorded the same way, since the app captures what the Mac plays. The meeting prompt also appears when a browser starts using your microphone.

Do I pay again if I already use the iPhone app?

No. The iPhone and Mac apps are the same App Store purchase, and a Pro subscription covers both. Sign in with the same email and your recordings sync between them.

Is the transcription done on my Mac?

The live captions while you record are produced on your Mac. The final transcript, with speaker labels and timestamps, is made in the cloud after you stop, and so are the AI tools.

Does it record my screen?

No. AI Transcribe records audio only. If you need a video of the call, use a screen recorder alongside it.

What do I need to run it?

A Mac with macOS 15 or later. Download it from the App Store; it is free to try.
